I made my reservations for the Gear Up and Ride the Alps rally which is being held at the US Military Edelweiss Lodge in Garmisch.
All active, reserve, retired NATO military and DoD Civilians can attend.
Anybody else plan to attend?
If so you will get to see me in Lederhosen!

Just so you all know Bert really has a pair of leather pants and a goofy hat. He likes to have his wife chase him around the house and he plays Farmer. HA.:doh
I can attest that Garmisch is one of the most beautiful spots in Europe! I spent many quality hours drinking beers and chasing snow bunnies there. Have a great time Bert!

We don't always play farmer. Sometimes I dress up in my old Army uniform and we pretend I am a shot down WW II pilot behind the Nazi lines and she is the helpless Bavarian virgin milk maid. :banadanc
Wow, I didn't even realize this section was in here! Well, I planned to go with a few guys from Spangdahlem (been looking forward to it for months!), but the parents are coming to visit from the states:doh Maybe next year....

Yes, beautiful country out there. When I was just a kid fresh out of high school I spent a few months working at a mountaintop ski chalet in a neighboring town, Mittenwald.
I'm checking out what's going on in the area because next month I'll be re-visiting Germany for the first time in 30 years. I've arranged to rent a sportster for a week. Picking it up in Stuttgart on August 16. It'll be fun making day trips out to the Black Forest, the Alps and just hanging out with family at the old farmhaus by the Bodensee
Have a good run. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I'll be gone to Berlin by that time.
