Any ideas? GOTWA 26th February 2006, 14:42 What's the OM say about it? I don't have mine handy just now. And I honestly don't know all the various things that trigger it. And you know we're gonna need more info Bill ole boy. What were you doing when it happened? Been tinkering with anything lately? Define "flash." Slow diliberate it's trying to tell me something kinda flash or sporadic maybe something's loose kinda flash? kiltbill 26th February 2006, 14:53 What's the OM say about it? Manual just tells you it's the engine lamp... No other informtion!!! Had been out about 20 minutes, enrichner was back in, bike idling and running fine.. when I saw light on was on, stayed on for a few seconds then went off. This happened about 3 times I think, was kinda concentrating on road! Not touched anything on bike lately... all standard apart from full Stage 1 kit greanmeany1 26th February 2006, 15:40 check the vacume hose from the senser on the intake manifold. make sure you did not knock off the elec connector. .also check the other carb vacume hoses. kiltbill 26th February 2006, 17:08 check the vacume hose from the senser on the intake manifold. make sure you did not knock off the elec connector. .also check the other carb vacume hoses. Cheers GM, checked all connections and hose... all seem okay, took bike back out again (got soaked... bloody weather!) and light stayed off, maybe just a glitch/connection problem. Will keep an eye out though, just in case it appears again. Thanks anyway... wowee1 26th February 2006, 17:29 Check to see if it stored a code...Then you'll know. Tedster 28th April 2008, 00:31 My 07 Nightster is doing the same thing. I cant find any info in the service manual other than "Engine light comes on at start up". How do I check for a code? :doh gusotto 28th April 2008, 00:44 The diagnostic mode is entered by turning the ignition from OFF to ON while holding the odometer reset switch in. Advance through the codes by hitting the reset to advance to the next code. Don't hold the reset more than 5 seconds because it will erase the stored diagnostic codes. |
