When I got my bike the brand new harness was all there but hanging unconnected. No problem, but on my diagram I see there should be a circuit breaker between the battery and the regualtor, and I don't have one. What do you recommend I do? Find a stock one or run a fuse in its place. Where is the best place to get this kind of stuff for a '74 sportster? Thanks

The message is too short??? What do you mean, does it have to be a certain length? It looks fine when i bring it up? I am new can you help me out?
Breakers haven't changed over the years. Dealer or aftermarket should have any breaker you need. Make sure it is the correct value..

The word "bump" by itself is too short of a message and the post entry form yelled at me saying "the message you have entered is too short...". You'll see that from time to time when some one just wants to post one word and has nothing more to say.

I am looking at the wiring diagram for 1974 in the Clymer and it does not show a breaker there. I believe there should be 3 circuit breakers altogether: lighting, accessory, ignition. My 1980 has the one you refer to - it is 30 amps, and the other three are 15 amps. One terminal of the 30 connects directly to the +ve battery terminal.

Thanks for the help everyone, I need to get one of those Clymer manuals I think. The diagram that I have is not that great.
Thanks for the bump Gary, I get it now.

If you decide that you need a breaker, like Ted posted, you can go to your local auto parts store and pick up the proper amperage breaker for a couple bucks.
