Does anyone know where to get the best deal on the best quality wheel. Would really like to put an 18" spoked wheel on the rear with an Avon or Metzler tire. Thanks

PLUG ALERT!

Best deal & best quality, look no further. Absolute lowest price, look elsewhere! We use Excel chromed steel rims, and Buchanan's stainless spokes & nipples. Customers usually go with the chromed spokes with the chromed rims, but not always.

Putting one of these together right now for a customer. He's supplying his own hub.

$93.50 Rim 18"x3.5"
$84.95 Plain stainless spokes & nipples
$114.95 Chromed spokes & nipples
$75 Assembled and trued to ±1/128"

Hubs are $149.95 for chromed aftermarket and $199.95 for OEM Harley ones, if you can't supply your own, but someone here can probably help you with that.

Stuff shown in the photographs is the aforementioned Excel 18x3.5 and a Buchanan's chromed spoke kit. These are quality parts, to put it plainly. His cost will be $283.45, but you can knock off $30 by going with plain stainless spokes.

Sun rim at 18x3.5 in clear is $194.95, Excel is $184.95.

Helps explain why the OEMs use chromed steel!

Best regards,

Note though that for the older bikes, 2.5" (or 2.75") is a saner choice. Prices are $169.95 for Sun in 18x2.75, and $139.95 for Excel in 18x2.5.

...and I see from the new feature that shows the year of your bike, that you have a 2005, so no help there! Wider is the way to go if you're going to run a 150 tire.
