March issue has a article on a re-stored 1960 ironhead sportster. Looking on Ebay last night I found the same bike, a basket case, for $1000. Author of the article bought as a basket case and discovered it was a California Diamond frame. The one on Ebay looks the same. Of course, wife says NOOOOOOOO. Someday, but parts are hard for org restore.

I have a 1958 XLH ( hence the name) and so far , while truly original parts are hard to find, there are plenty of restoration parts available. Many parts were left the same until about 1980.Some original / NOS parts do show up on Ebay.

I am lucky though, my bike is probably 98 % original. The only aftermarket parts are the tires, a few oil lines and a few repalcement bolts.
