Nice bike for sure... The license mount don't look legal for here in IL... Maybe I just can't see the white light for the plate...

Edited for spelling...

But I didn't pay that much for it, wow that's high. Good product, though.

Seat looks friggin' sweet. How's the seat for comfort? And if you don't mind, where did you get yours for less $$?

Does that seat put you back more or is it about the same as stock?

Thanks for all the kind words, much appreciated! MidWest, I bought the seat from licks and I'm 90% sure the price has gone up since I got mine. I don't recall paying that much for it.

Now for the other questions about the seat.

1. I've yet to have a problem with comfort. It's not as bad as you'd think.

2. It sits me back a bit and much lower than stock.

How is the install setup on the seat? Any drilling, welding, etc?

chuckp

There's a bracket that mounts to the existing hole for your stock seat and the rear gas tank mount. The seat attachs to that. The springs are the biggest pain, I used a 1" flathead screwdriver with a rag around it to spread the springs in order to get the nut on. It's only about a 20 minute install, really pretty simple.

Thanks. The flip up in the back seems like it would keep me more planted in there as opposed to the flatter springer seats I've seen. I'm sure they have a setup for the '03s. We don't have the rear tank mount that the 04 & newer Sportys have. I'll check with them.

I'm sure they'll have one for the 03's. The flip up in back is indeed better for keeping your ass where it needs to be :)

Thats why I am looking at it, my mustang solo is comfortable but it does nothing to keep me on the bike when I nail it. And another couple inches back would be nice too. Thank for sharing the info.

Bike looks great, I think it needs some more chrome though along with some laced wheels.

:roflblack The last thing it needs is more chrome!

Although laced wheels wouldn't be bad...

Nice job scoring one cheaper! I'll be cutting it myself, should be a very simple cut.

I got it on ebay from a seller named lrwjcw (also known as Lee's Speed Shop). The seat was $104 and the XL spring mounting kit was $75. Looks like the exact same setup as the one on Lick's website. I'll post some pics when it arrives and I get it mounted. :D

I'll be leaving the alignment nub, with my luck I'd cut it and then find out there's a purpose for it...
