Aaron,

Have you verified that aftermarket cases will be legal in "alt" class only?

What are your current plans for Bonneville this year?

Hey Jim ... I keep hearing that SCTA never intended this side effect of the rule change, apparently it never occurred to them. Gee, ya think it might've been a good idea to review the changes with the racers before implementing them?

But as it stands right now, I've seen nothing official, except the new rule. And I don't see how that rule can reasonably be interpreted any other way. The new rule books aren't out yet, though.

Bub's has published their 2006 rules, no change in them.

We're sponsoring the Bub event (well, us and several other companies). To me, that's the main event I want to support. SCTA events are secondary. if they say I have to run "A" at SCTA events, ok, I guess I run "A". But I'm not going to change the bike around and make it into a true "A" bike. It's still "M" legal at Bub's and that's the event that matters to me. Hell with SCTA. it's the most AFU sanctioning body I've ever had the displeasure of racing with.

So, see you at Bub's? You know you're welcome here on your way through and back, and if there's anything I can do to help, consider it done.

Hmmmm, how many aftermarket (import) frames fitting aftermarket (import) engines with production over 500?

Seems they had someone in mind with that rule and forgot about the HD style aftermarket.

When Bob Bennett talked to Tom Evans (SCTA tech inspector), Tom assured him that S&S cases are, and will remain legal in "M" class for our bikes.

I'm not sure what their intentions were with the new wording, but it does make things confusing.

Also if the new wording automatically put the RR/S2 in "A" class, this would cause other problems with class legality, such as wheelbase and peg location.

But if they make over 500 of the SS/R2 will that make it "Production"?
And exempt from "A" or "M" rules?

Uhhh,

Sam...

I'm pretty sure it's a safe bet we will not have to worry about 500 RR/S2's anytime soon.

Hey fast guy! How you doing anyway? Looks like it's a good thing we didn't try to do Lake Gairdner ... wet course, wind, etc. Be ready to kick some ass this fall though ;) Both bikes!

Tim,
I'd guess it depends on how many Aaron buys...... :)

Nah, I'm motorcycle poor at the moment. I haven't counted lately, but it's around a dozen, counting the pit bikes ;)

Sam, my offer to Jimmy applies to you, too, y'know. Not sure if Denver is on your route, but if it is, STOP BY. We've got a 4 br house and it's just my wife and me, so there's lots of room. Tools, lift, and a dyno too.

In case anyone here is wondering who the hell "XLTimbo" is, well, like I said, he's a fast guy. One of the fastest. Belongs to a very exclusive club ...

Thanks Aaron,

I'd like to try the Bub's event then hang around long enough for the USFRA event before coming back to OH.

I can mow grass and sweep floors with the best of em.

"edit" think they would make you stretch the bike to run "A" ?

Thanks Aaron. My schedule has September has "under water", so to speak.
I'm organizing a local rally at the same time as the factory Open House.
Y'all are welcome if the salt is wet. (Fingers crossed it ain't)
World Finals is my only (very slim) hope this year.

Jim, give me a shout when you're close to K.C.

Aaron,

I was chatting with Timbo today over at the Bennett's, and if my schedule is clear, I'd love to meet you guys out on the salt. And I am more than happy to lend a helping hand if you need a warm body in the pits.

Hell yes, come on out. We have a good time. I really enjoy going to Bonneville. Ever been to the salt? It's quite an experience just going there. You have to stand out there on the salt and look around to understand what I mean. It's like no place else on earth I've ever been.

Sorry I couldn't make it to the party yesterday, I really wanted to, but there was just no way, we're buried. Yesterday I worked 9 to 11, and I don't mean 2 hours. I'll be back at it here in a little bit.

Timbo, Sam ....

It's great to see both of you in here, hopefully we'll all be getting together in Utah.

I welcome anybody in my pits, last time there were 4 different sportsters in it and at one time I saw 2 buells there from the elves contigent getting worked on as well.

You do realize though you will be put to work and that lasts all day. It's the hardest working vacation you'll ever take, but it's well worth it.

What are the dates you are planning on attending the salt? I'll need to start plugging in dates soon to see if there are any I can attend. The September dates are up in the air as of right now.

I personally have never been to the salt before, but have great interest in it, and have watched programs and readup on it. So I am somewhat familiar. But, most of all I would love to help you guys out.

Hey Jim,

Thanks, but I wouldn't consider it a vacation, but rather an experience. One of those ones I have on a list of things to do before I die. Working all day long and doing something to further the cause sounds like fun to me. I am a hard worker, and not a stranger to pit duty (I occasionally help friends out on thier trucks at desert races). Hope to see you guys at one of the events this year.
