I bought one of those fancy HD oil dipsticks with the temp gauge. How do I read the thing? It has a line near the very bottom, do I wait until the oil is at that level before I add more OIL or can I add oil to bring it up to the top line? There is no info on the stick, so if anyone else has one of these dipsticks please let me know how to read the thing. I don't want to run too low or put to much in. Thanks in advance.

Mine has 2 lines. They correspond to 1 quart down and full when hot. Rule of thumb is 1/2 way between the 2 when fully warned up. (05/1200C reading taken with bike on jiffy stand).

Follow owners manual instructions for checking the oil, keep the level somewhere between the two lines and you'll be good to go.

Thanks! I found my original and compared the two. The original shows the proper readings of each line.
