Only riode it once and blew throught the bottle real quick. Temps were rather chilly (lower 50's if my memory is right) and it was a good feel, but not what it'll be once old man winter leaves and the warm summer sun warms the bottle :)

Thanks. I don't think taking a hit of recreational grade nitrous is a good idea unless ya like the taste of sulphur (rotten eggs)..lol

up to 45 degrees out today and the weatherman claims temps to be above normal next week, so I might get to ride it again :clap

warm the bottle yourself. Go to a walmart and get a12 volt baby bottle warmer. Cut the warmer pad out of the cotton plaid cloth...its 12 v ...its ready to go. wire in a 10 amp fuse to the battery, and volia...
Next go to the pet store and get a stick on reptile cage thermometer strip. Go for around 80 degrees.

Whenever a pressure vessel is cooled, internal pressure drops. Most N2O systems are designed to work with tank pressures of 600-800 psi, which is the approximate pressure of a normal bottle at room temperature (approximately 72 degrees). If the bottle is cooled below room temperature, the pressure quickly falls, and flow would be reduced to the nozzles. For example, a bottle that had 800 psi at 75 degrees would fall to 450 psi at 30 degrees, and only 275 psi at O degrees.
On the other side of the coin, heating the bottle increases the pressure, but heat also tends to make the N2O vaporize in the line between the solenoid valve and the discharge nozzle, which upsets metering and reduces N2O flow. Ideally, the bottle and lines should be kept at room temperature, but as the bottle empties the pressure drops, and it must be heated to above room temp.
I have a pressure gauge and find that room temp isnt quite enough. 8-900 lbs of pressure will really wake up your system.

Lol....I didn't mean "me" literally, I meant let my Sporty take a hit of it.
J/k though.

For those little bottles I found a used 10# on ebay for $50 and mounted it in the garage upside down. Now all I do is take the 12oz bottle chill it in the freezer or an ice chest for a few min. and set it below the 10# tank and it fills nicly. No pump needed, probably has to do with what Narley said. I know the liquid flows to the colder bottle, just don't know why. Save a lot of trips to get it refilled at the strip

Once the 12 oz bottle comes back up to room temp, what kind of pressures are you seeing? I know when I take mine in to get it filled we have to pump the living crap into that little bottle to get it up to 950 psi.

I have no Idea what the pressure is yet:doh just got it all hooked up. But I get about 6 shots from the bottle ether having it filled or filling it myself, if that helps

Just be careful filling it that way. If you get it over the limits of the bottle and then let your scoot sit in the sun....can you say kaboom! I'll have to look at my Edelbrock bottle more carefully, but I think it has a pressure release valve (might just be a one time valve too).

Mines got the release valve, checked it before I tried saving a few pennys and time :D and its Edelbrocks. But need to check and see if its a one time valve. Took it out today for the first time and its sweet but still to cold to have any fun.

You and me both brotha, it was 48 degrees cold as hell but had to get the first ride in.
Narley Avatar looks like Norwalk drag strip ? If it is the guys that run the pit store told me about getting a 10# mother tank and getting the little bottles filled.

Narley is that you and what strip was the pic taken at???

giggle gas brothers unite.
when you go to get the bottle filled bring it on ice. It will fill more quickly . they fill to weight not pressure.
Thats me at the mission raceway in BC. Sealevel track.
had a couple days up here at 50 degrees.
uisnf that 10 lb bottle are you getting the bottles full by weight?

Only had the use of a digital scale once and it had almost 10-1/2 oz run into it. So no its not completely filling it but close enough that the convience of being able to fill everytime I stop at home out weighs the hassle of getting it completly topped off.

And when its time to fill I just set the 12oz down and leave it, it won't take anymore in. not like it will leak out or blow the valve. It just fills up and no more liquid {gas} can flow down into the small bottle
