Hi,
just wondering if anyone is running a
Screamin Eagle 32942-02 nose cone Ignition module.
I am thinking of putting one in my M2 buell motor as i think the stock one has died.
Any info on whether this unit is good or bad would be greatly appreciated.
They are selling for around US$100.00 on Ebay, which is about half the price of other brands on the market.
Is this cos there shit or is it a bargain.
thanks in advance

I bought one off of Ebay and am planning on using it on my '02 883R which now has Thunderstorm heads and NRHS Hurricane pistons.
I have looked for other people's experiences with this ignition but haven't found anything. It looks like I'll be blazing my own trail on this one.
If you've found out anything, if you don't mind, please let me know.

Hi, I have found nothing to say whether the unit is bad or good.
I found a site that said the unit is made for SE by crane and is the same unit as the crane hi4.
If you compare the two units they do look the same except for the name printed on them.
I think we have got ourselves a bargain.
I myself like the fact that once i start the engine mods once the bugs are sorted out i can just change the mode to match the upgrades without pulling it to bits again.
Have you already got your unit?? mine wont be here for a coulpe of weeks i think.
Any chance you can post or send me a scan of the instalation instructions that came withit.
I would like to get everything ready for when it turns up.
good luck with your project, NRHS make some good bits, thats were i will be putting my order in at.

Hi.
I am currently run one in My 2003 883/1200.
I only have a couple hundred miles on it, and so far it seems to be all i hoped for, but i have not finalized the Dial in, so it's a wait and see at this point.
I do like how easy it is to adjust...seems to run good, but the engine is still on the break in, so it's kinda hard to give a full opinion.
I will just say that i do like it.

I wonder if it could be adapted to an Ironhead.

I received my ignition module on Friday and installed it today. Actually pretty easy. Currently I have it set on Curve 8...started with Curve 5 but response was very slow. I'm taking it easy...still breaking it in (Thunderstorm Heads & NRHS 1212 kit)

Does anyone know the pinouts for the programming cable? P/N for the Crane or HD software/cable kit?

Does anyone know the pinouts for the programming cable? P/N for the Crane or HD software/cable kit?
Pinout for XL app. Mod # 32942-02.. Mod works with Buel Blast @ diffrent pinouts than below.
This pinout is for the XL Dual Fire (not single fire) Coils such as coil #3165-97
Replace the single fire stock coil before proceeding if you have it.
This pinout is not for the 1200 sport dual plug system.
Pin #1 wht/blk = Ignition swt.
Pin#2 violet/white = VOES
Pin#3 violet/org = not used
Pin#4 pink = Coil/Tach
Pin #5 grn/gry = Bank-angle sense
Pin #6 pin plug = Grnd. not used

Well I've had this module installed since April and I think it has died. Once my Sportster has been ridden and then let to sit for 30 minutes it won't start.
You have to turn on the ignition switch, wait 15 seconds for the status light on the module to light, then it will start. If you don't wait for the status light it won't start.
As the bike cools off the 'wait time' for the status light gets shorter and shorter. I never would have figured this one out if I hadn't taken the nose cone cover off to look for the status light.
Apparently 'heat soak' is slowly killing the module. Now I'm probably in the market for another brand of ignition module because I'm suspicious of how well designed this module (SE/Crane) is.
If you guys think this is just a fluke please let me know. Hopefully quite a few of you are running this module and can speak to this.
