Well, I thought I had gathered everything together to set up my ignition timing, but don't have an allen wrench large enough! -not sure if the timing plugs vary in size from year to year, but mine is a 2001 883 custom. Also, I noticed a post regarding the clear viewing plug. Is it really an essential piece of kit to have, or will a section of rubber tubing work? (I think IronMick posted that one, but not sure if thats for earlier models or all). Anyway, some input would sure help me get started!

The clear plastic plug is COMPLETELY USELESS. A 1 inch long piece of oil line works very well for me. I put one end on the stone on my bench grinder to get it completely smooth. That end goes in the hole, right tight up against the flywheel.

I'll check the size and post later if no one else does.
