Hi.
I'm trying to decide which ignition module to get for my bike.
It's a 06 883 Custom. It's been converted to 1200cc's w/ new jugs and SE Pistons. No headwork, but I did have the SE High Perf cams installed.

I was looking at a SE module (31784-04A) that raises the rev limiter to 7000rpms, but maintains the stock curve. I'm hoping to get the most performance possible, and there's another SE ignition module that might work for me. It says it's for a 1200 (is that my bike or not?), and retards timing by 5% at WOT. So:

1) Will it work w/ my 883-converted 1200?
2) What's retard timing mean, and what's the effect?
3) What should I buy? - Something different?

Thanks!!!

Get the Twin Tec TC88A adjustable ignition module and the optional cable needed to load a custom ignition program into the module.

Don't worry about knowing anything about any of it. Just install it per the instructions, and I will send you a copy of a custom ignition program you can load into it.

You will be happy with the overall performance and you can set the rev limiter to anything you want.

If you don't want to do that, just leave your stock ignition module in the bike .... you don't need an SE module that retards your timing 5 degrees at Wide Open Throttle (WOT).
