I got a buddy who has a custom piece of crap and when I he rides he is constantly running his battery dead. Then he wants a jump. I do it because I don't want to leave him stranded obviously but I am worried it will screw my bike up.

Unless you cross wires the wrong way it shouldn't be an issue. All you're doing is letting his bike borrow some of the electrcity that your bike is making to turn the starter. It might wear your battery out a little quicker, but nothing that you'd notice.
In any event, I'd tell your friend to either get his shit figured out or buy a kick starter for his birthday.

I don't mind helping someone out, but when it cost me money for someone elses mistake i seem to draw the line.

I've had and do have friends like this. In this particular situation I would tell him "Until you show some effort to take care of yourself, I refuse to jump your bike again. The real issue is your lack of personal responsibility. What kind of friend would I be if I sat idly by and watched you abdicate the joy of accomplishment to myself"?

I would, however, offer my assistance in troubleshooting and correcting the problem.

I don't think it would be to good for the battery in the long run, push start him from now on. Only thing is it might hurt your knees, when my nephew got his bike two weeks ago the battery was dead. My brother in law wanted to hear it in the worst way, he pushed me and when the bike started, I drove a couple of feet and when I turned to look behind me, he was crawling up from the driveway cursing me and complaining about his knees and that I wasn't supposed to take off. Well he got to hear the bike and he is fine. But he won't offer to push anymore.:p
