Yes I have a 04 883. The chain and oil is good. I have been getting a knocking sound coming from my primary. The faster I go the faster it gets. It does it with the clutch pulled in to. Any ideas. Thanks for the help.

Have you checked your primary chain tension?

The primary chain is connected directly to the motor and moves at the speed of the motor, regardless of the speed of the motorcycle.

I haven't the slightest idea of what the tension spec is for an 04, maybe an owner of a rubber mount will chime in...

Joker13,
A picture and explaination to adjust the primary chain is in the "owners" manual that came with the bike. It is very easily understood! I do it, so you can do it! Make a thin mark on and across the adjusting nut (under primary cover left side) before starting.

Is it still under warranty?????

If so take it to the dealer as you may have a loose nut.....

The only loose nut on my scoot is the one behind the handlebars.... ;)
