Hi, has anyone here messed around with the S&S B-1 heads?, specifialy, changed/modified the the combustion chamber shape?. What I am going to be doing is lowering the comp ratio a bit and originaly I was planning on just shaving some off the top of the B-1 piston but these pistons have bee lightened so I will be limited to where and how much I can take off. I got to thinking about the B-1 head and started to look at the chamber shape and started to wonder if I should open up the chamber a bit and get rid of some or all the angles these things have, to me it seems the exhaust valve seems kind of shrouded with this combustion shape?. I want to keep the squish selfs and not touch them at all, just thinking to open up the rest. The engine has a 14:1 static comp now, I was hoping to get it down to 12 maybe 11:1. Anyone out there done this before with these heads... does it make the chamber better or worse?
