I went to fire my scooter up...cranked fine, then just stopped without warning. Once before I got the solenoid tapping away with no cranking, turned the ignition off, tried it again, and it was fine. This time-nothing. Not even a dim light anywhere-no power. The battery shows 12.8 volts via a multimeter. Battery cables appear to be in tact, also.
Should I start with the relay, or the ignition switch? The manual really says nothing about testing procedures in this scenario other than how to replace everything. Thanks in advance for any input on testing the ignition switch, relay, etc!

Sounds like a bad ground to me. I would clean and retighten the negative cable, then do a resistance test for a bad cable. Check for voltage, then amps at your fuses. Once you are sure you have power to the fuses, then move to the individual circuit. IMO, most electrical problems are a result of poor connections, I would rule out a bad connections before moving on to individual components.

Duh...thanks guys!
Turns out there were 3-4 old unused connectors at the neg terminal which allowed the ground cable to be *just loose* enough to cause a problem. Glad it happened in my garage. Geesh-I think I am getting troubleshooting alzheimers.;)
