Those 2 inches of battery cable would justify a cost increase of probably $1,000 or so. Gone 5th April 2006, 18:09 the short battery cable was the first thing to break for me, the cable was corroded at the connector on the starter, I hit a big ass bump on the way home and it broke the last few strands, and quit running. it took a while to isolate the problem on the side of the road. when it was on the stand nothing happened, when i sat on it all the lights worked but it would not start. Had another rider stop to help, just about the time i figured out that if i held the battery in with my leg it would start. the other rider was not a help fixing the problem but he was nice enough to follow me home. I scrapped the short cable, got a a new cable from autozone about 18 inches long, cut the battery terminal end off, solidered on a new terminal lug, wrapped the new cable in plastic protective jacket, and made a loop behind the battery tray. problem solved with lots of length to spare. debster 5th April 2006, 23:33 Yeah! I bought a battery tender and started installing the pigtail. I had stop working and run to the store to buy a universal for my 1/4 " drive set. It was still a pain in the a**. |
