I took delivery of my '05 883L exactly one year ago today.
The fit and finish are outstanding, much better than any other makes I have owned in the past.
Absolutely NO problems with my bike since delivery, including a very good setup by my dealer Gene Lummus HD in Swannanoa, NC.
Thanks for making such an excellent product.
PS---Better stock rear shocks and front fork springs would be nice. Adjustable suspension pieces like the old 1200 S would be great!

Hello Sportster Girl,
Happy anniversary! May you have many, many more. Mine will be two in another week. About got it paid off also. Can't wait. Free up some coinage for my other hobbies. Supposed to be 85 F here (Va) on Friday. Sweet! Maybe catch some rays on the bike!

I'll dissent (at least partially)
I mean, the fit and finish on most part of our 05 883L (which is just over a year old and has about 6500 miles so far) is pretty darn good, it appears that there are some bare aluminum parts.
WHY IN GOD'S NAME wouldn't you clear coat the bare aluminum to keep it from corroding?
And at the same time, there are fasteners, simple ones that are used in maintenance, which are pitting (I'm not even talknig about things like the exhaust clamps that are covered in rust even though we've never touched em). Why should there be corrosion on the steering head lock cylinder assembly or in the recesses of the air cleaner bolts. After ONE YEAR when we're talking about a garaged bike that rarely sees the rain?
It seems that some items are TOP quality (fit and finish of paint or some chromed parts), while others are just crap (triple trees, rocker boxes, various fasteners)
Why the dichotomy?
