Got my Crane H-4 single fire ignition kit yesterday. Module, coil and plug wires. Removed tank and seat, followed crane instructions and took my time. Reread the instructions several times and referred to the service manual wiring diagrams. All together and started instantly. Set timing and all seems well. Won't get to ride till Sat but sounds good and starts great. Only thing I don't like is the oil blowing all over when timing. Tried the short hose trick, not all that much better and harder to see. Has anyone tried the clear timing plug I've seen advertised? All in all, not a bad job. :clap

Man I got that Crane H-4. It is dyn-o-mite! When the bike shuts off with the piston in exacty the right place, just a touch of the starter button and "BLATT, potato, potato, potato". I mean it fires up in a millionth of an eye blink. It almost sounds like a fire cracker going off. "BLATT" Not even a ka-BLATT, just "BLATT" and she's purring like a kitten. Let me (us) know if you notice any changes on the road. My sled runs like the wind.

I have the clear timing plug. It is completely useless. The one inch hose works best if you put one end on a grinding stone to make it really smooth [gets hot enough to actually melt the rubber a little], and cram that end in the hole right tight up against the flywheel.
