Totally agree, with pain in my heart I sold mine. However just to be able to buy a brand new Sportster.

Have a look at my images you'll see why (when it's late and I am in my bed I silently weep):frownone

wow, that would be awsome. Who knows, they did something similar for the Dyna, maybe the XLCH will get similar treatment.

Maybe HD will surprise us with a 50th anniversay 2007 sportster, a real back road burner. Take a look at the v-twin kit built sport bike in May Cycle World. HD needs to give us this bike.

Did they? Looked like some badging and a paint scheme, but nothing really tieing it to the Superglides of yor. Just like the Sturgis, Daytona, and 100th anniv bikes, just flashy badges and paint to make you spend more $$ for a bike that is no different than a non commemorative model. Look for '50s paint schemes and badges for the 50th anniv Sportster models, but nothing more. Oh and forget a factory kickstarter, Yuppies don't dig those.

Yep, I'd love to see the kickstart return. Ideally retain the elec starter so either method is available.

Adding a kicker would require reworking the cases and that cost $$$$...Right now I think the company is thinking about a water cooled version of the sporty...A kicker would be awesome though...

They'll never reintroduce a kicker. Just think about the liability issue. As soon as someone blows out their knee there'd be lawsuits up the wazoooo....:laugh . The MoCo would never open themselves up to that.

Isn't it sad that, while fuelling our passion by providing us with vehicles that may get us killed, the MoCo has to worry about lawsuits from someone blowing out a knee? For the number of years it can take to kill the knee, many worse things can happen on a bike!

Of course, if they had a disclaimer attached to the purchase of a kicker Sporty, I'd be more than happy to sign it!

Don't know about the kicker, but I dig the peanut tank. It's too bad the 04 and later customs have that big ass tank on them. I really dig the small tanks, it sucks having to fill up all the damn time, but it's worth it in my book :smoke
