Just tore the heads and cylinders off for upgrade. The oil was quite black when I drained it out. Are there any recommended "engine flushing" compounds to rince out the bottom end prior to reassemble.

This is what I did during rebuild to clean out the crankcase. I bought a gallon of diesel oil and poured about a third or so of it into the crankcase. Then pumped it out using a MityVac. Repeated three times and made sure to pump all of it out.

What about that stuff they have for cars that you put in, run the engine for five minutes, then change the oil. Is that ok for the bike?

i would rather see you just change the oil at 500 miles a few times. one little flake of something in the engine can starve lubrcation to a oil galley and ruin the engine.
