View Full Version : free firebolt for my man
bsporty 12th April 2006, 00:37 Its tax season and im sick of riding alone!I am going to purchase a 06 firebolt for my man.He has done quite a bit of research but I just want to make sure.
Who knows the pros and cons of the firebolt? My boyfriend has bad knees, real bad, just want to know if the firebolt would be ok for him.
GOTWA 12th April 2006, 00:44 I sat on a XB12Ss today and I gotta tell ya, with bad knees I have to think that would be rough. I would definately have him try it out first.
And how cool is that? Buying a bike for him like that! :tour
cjburr 12th April 2006, 00:45 You should find out if you can rent one or take one for a test ride if his knees are really bad. That's probably the only way to know for sure.
Good Luck
DustyJacket 12th April 2006, 00:59 Have him go to the dealers "demo days" - they are having them this time of year.
Let him try out some bikes.
The Buell dealer here does H-D demos the same days.
I think the sportbike posture is hard on knees, wrists, and neck. (My opinion only)
acenorm 12th April 2006, 01:00 Camden County Harley in W. Collingswood is having Buell demo rides on April 22nd and you get a free Buell sling bag. That might be a good time to get him to do some test rides.:tour
Best Regards,
Norm

I'd suggest trading in your boyfriend for me. My knees are great!!! Plus, I have my own bike. I'd be happy to tag along with you while you go shopping with your tax refund.

....P.S.........Bring your bikes......:D
NRHS Sales 12th April 2006, 15:37 The Firebolt would probably be very uncomfortable with bad knees. I would suggest he look at the XB Lightning instead as the footpegs are better placed for bad knees. But you also could put the Lightning pegs onto a Firebolt with some easy wrenching.

That was my first thought as well. Maybe the Lightning riding position might be a bit more comfy on a pair of bad knees, especially for someone who is tall.

But him a Hot Wheels or Matchbox motorcycle, and include a "coupon" for a bike.
Or, have the checkbook handy each time you "happen to" visit a dealeship and sit on or demo a bike..... when you find the onw, write the check.
bsporty 22nd April 2006, 01:15 Those are some good ideas dusty. It would be cool to have him demo the bike and then find out its his!
