Just replaced stock cams with n8's I don't know if this is just coincidence or not but now I can't seem to get it to run on both cylinders under 3000 rpms. Any ideas. I have tried to check out ignition and no luck there but can't seem to figure out problem. At idle it wants to run on one cylinder and then sometimes running under 3000 down the road it just dies on me. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Hi Red.

Ok, Since i do not know what year/model/Engine size or other mods you have done, this will make it a bit hard to answer

I will ASSUME that you have a 1200, and that other then a stage 1, you bike it stock and the cams are timed right.

Ok, did you install adjustable push rods?
Did you measure the rods?
It sounds like the valve overlap is too much for your compression or the valves are too tight.
N8's are a hole lota cam...it just might be too much for you set-up.

298180 (86-90) V8 32/44 256 296 0.490 0.226 Modified 1100-1200, stroked 883’s with stock springs and
298185 (91-99) N8 56/28 264 302 0.500 0.212 hydraulic lifters. Same intake cam as N4 but more exhaust
298190 (2000-up)** cam duration. Great mid-range power: 2000-6500 RPM.

I borrowed this from Andrews page, it says for Modiifed engines. and that is will not fit 2000 and above.

It is a 1995 that I converted to a 1200 with keith black pistons and mikuni carb. This will give me a place to start. Thanks
