I need service for my buell!!

I just purchased a 1999 buell thunderbolt with only 3000mi. very clean but it has not run for 4yrs. it has a problem with the elec. fuel system. none of the buell/harley dealers around me will work on a buell. does anyone know who can service it for me in s.e.michigan area?

You're telling me an authorized Harley dealership won't work on one of their own products?

If that's the case, contact H-D directly by phone and tell them about the issue. We have several dealers around this region of the country and everyone of them will work on their own bikes. It may take a while to get parts, as is the case with my 15-year-old scoot, but they shops still work on it.

I'd contact H-D anyway about authorized service centers in your area.

Only Buell dealers are trained to work on Buells. If it is just a Harley dealer they will not touch the bike in most cases especially the fuel injection. It is not the same fuel injection as HD bikes.

Lucky car mechanics aren't so specifically trained that they can only work on one kind of fuel injection! Gimme a break!!!

Get your hands on a factory service manual for your specific model, and then register on badweatherbikers.com and ask away. Goto the "Old School" section and the "Knowledge Vault"...you can find answers to just about anything Buell related...
