My new 06 883L is being delivered next Tuesday and I can hardly wait. I've got a Ness Big Sucker, C/S tapereds and a Mustang Vintage Solo seat waiting to go on it. Haven't ridden in 17 years now, gave it up when helmet law passed in NE. Rode steadily for 37 years before that, though I've only had one Sportster, an Ironhead in 1980. Did ride a lot of my buddies Sportsters when they first came out, it was an exciting time. Starting M/C Safety Course next Friday. Seems like a smart thing to do after a 17 year layoff. I can't hardly wait!:banana :banana

This is probably a dumb question, as I'm not familiar with some of the terms being used these days, but does "Paying The Taxes" and "Stage 1" refer to the normal procedure of increasing air/exhaust flow and optimizing the carb for the ideal air/fuel ratio?

Pretty much right on the head there buddy. High flow AC/exhaust, and re-jet is "paying taxes" or "stage 1"
