We had a March of Dimes ride today from work which ended up at a Harley Dealership. Lucky me, the dealership just happened to be having Buell demo rides, which I couldn't pass up. I chose the XB12Ss, which happens to be my favorite. I had ridden it before, but have pretty much decided that if I were to get a new Buell the XB12Ss would be it. I rode it 2 times, aprox 20 plus miles.
After the ride I filled out a info form and got a free sling bag. So if you are having a Demo near by, check it out. I don't know how long the bags will be available.
My wife says I'll end up buying it.:) That's all I need. I'm sure.:banana

I got a sliing bag as well as a hat. In the usual Harley dealer fashion the sales dude asked if I just wanted the bag without the demo ride. I took it of course.

They weren't telling you about the Sling Bag, so if you didn't ask you didn't get one. The guys at the dealership (Bumpus in Murfreesboro Tn), doing the demo rides, were great; one in particular, who happens to have a hotrod X-1, has always been real helpful to me.
I had ridden the XB12Ss before, in fact, I have ridden them all on a previous demo, so I kind of knew what to expect. I like the additional room that the Ss provides, as well as the additional fuel capacity that it offers; Seems like it would make a good Sport Tourer with decent bags and a better wind screen. The Demo ride was a group ride so it was fairly slow, but had enough curves to get a good feel of the bike. The Ss has a bit more relaxed geometery than the other Buells except the Ullysees, but will still eat a curve up. I did sneek in a small wheelie on the ride and didn't get busted,:banana Accelerating from a stop hit second kind of hard and up came the front wheel, FUN.
I think the XB12Ss would be a fun bike to own, but I don't like it more than my Sportster; The Sportster is much more of a challange, making it fun even at somewhat legal speeds. Throw that out the window with the Buell, but I would like to have it as an additional bike. Problem for me is I have the Sportster and a hotrod S-1 in the works, so it's hard to justify another one, but who knows it could come home with me one day.

I picked up my bag a couple weeks ago. It is the most used free item that I have ever received. There is a cool place for your cell phone and jazzy little pockets everywhere. I use the bag all the time. So get to your dealership and get one, they rock. I get asked if I have a Buell all the time, sadly I have to say "not yet, but its my next bike"
