Well the 2006 season is almost here. 1st race for the CMDRA circuit is early June. Its late april now ,so that really just leaves 4-5 weekends on which to work on the bike and get to some tracks for practice. I have had the bike out for a week now and today I took it out for a shake down including running it to the limiter and trying the nitrous. IT PULLS LIKE A TRAIN with the edelbrock kit and their progressive controller keeps it coming on smooth. Wow that was exciting...it gave me a refresher course on why I do this....the thrill...the grins...love it! Still have to test the air shifter and get the wheelie bars cleaned up and ready.
Anyways the motor pulls strong on its own ,but even with a cold bottle shot of nitrous the bike pulls you forward so strongly you think the tire may break free at almost 100 miles per hour.
This year will find me trying to do a few horsepower contests. 2 year ago I rolled up to a sportbike event and took 1st place in their vtwin class against the ducks and the rc51 hondas.
So ....did i mention how fun it was to test the bike today...I also just wanted to let everyone here know that the season is nearly here and I will keep the reports coming...thanks in advance for the support all ,and here we go....

Best of luck this season, I'm sure they'll be gunning for you:gun , but with your winter mods and tuning and the new heads, they better bring everything they got.

We'll all be pulling for you :clap :clap :clap :clap

how many clutches you go through in a year? damn 165HP thats more than the 3.1 litre V6 in my 3500 pound chevy!

last year I went through a clutch per race till i softened the hit of the nitrous with the edelbrock progressive two stage nitrous controller. It brings the nitrous on at 20% rampnig to 50% in 1.5 seconds then more steeply increses from 50% to 100% in one second. Worked awesome to give me just a little more power at launch to prevent a bog...before i had the progressive controller it was 100% on all at once and was spinning the clutch.
The controlled application of the nitrous saw me actually having to use far less nitrous and still kept getting faster times. raw power doesnt do it alone...it has to rely on traction and at the launch something has to give a little and this year with even more power the clutch is going to need to be massaged...
