engine 21st November 2004, 04:07 Here is a pic of an XL chopper by Mayhem Custom Cycles on Staten Island, NY. I first saw this bike at the '04 Bike Show @ Javitz Center, and still love it.

When I spoke to them about this bike, the price was set at $15k. Not friggin bad, I think...
Broncodog 21st November 2004, 04:16 Great lookin chopper. Price sound about right too.
Gary 21st November 2004, 04:49 That's a nice looking Sporty. It's amazing what a lotta black can do to make a bike lookk great. Okay, I'm going to get a can of flat black spray paint and remove all that chrome on my bike now... well maybe not but black does look real nice.
Gary
engine 21st November 2004, 05:30 the bike is actually covered in that "ckrinkle black". Engine, wheels, frame. and that subtle gold trim on the headlight and intake just look great. The points cover is that satanic goat thing. They are going to offer custom points and derby covers soon, I hope they offer that goat one.
txsporty 21st November 2004, 05:44 Nice Chopper!!
Love the Black!!
I'm getting Ready to do some Black Powder Coating on My Scoot Soon!! :D
missyd 21st November 2004, 10:51 Nice looking ...... but not my style. ;)
04SportNasty 22nd November 2004, 04:30 Very nice, i love that look :smoke
barry1967 22nd November 2004, 04:41 Personnaly, I don't care for it. Just my opinion.
sean883 22nd November 2004, 15:52 I like the black look, i'm getting ready to powdercoat a bunch of parts black. That bike has too much black though.
gordy 22nd November 2004, 16:00 very nice I like that style and love black bikes all the chrome on bikes is beginning to look real boring
Darhawk 22nd November 2004, 17:23 That seat's gotta be a nut crusher:helpsign
danii 23rd November 2004, 15:14 I like the black look, but like Sean said... that one is a little overboard. Don't much care for the coffin tank either. They still did a pretty good job on it though.
bud095 26th November 2004, 19:51 overboard on the black but still cool! :smoke
pilot 27th November 2004, 02:10 Nothing meaner than a blacked out chopper IMHO.
benford46 27th November 2004, 03:18 I like it,kinda basic and mechanical looking,
it would look good dirty also.

eagle101 30th November 2004, 07:21 sorry guys.that thing is hidious
The one behind it's not bad!
Mark_Bench 30th November 2004, 13:43 I like the concept but some things(mostly the rear fender and it's strut) woul dhave to be changed for my tastes, but the blackout thing is very me.
engine 30th November 2004, 23:22 to each his own I guess. But that's what makes us unique...
Shark Doctor 30th November 2004, 23:46 Ride with a helmet like Darth Vader and you have a unique look... not exactly a chick magnet, but the combo would scare the FiberCon out of senior citizens!!!
collinsb 1st December 2004, 01:06 Chromeman thinks the bike is nice! Chromeman thinks the bike could use more chrome! Don't argue with Chromeman! Chromeman will pee on your leg!

Broncodog 1st December 2004, 05:46 :laugh :laugh :clap :clap :clap way to go collinsb!
Desertfox 13th December 2004, 23:39 Love the black. Gives it a menacing look. Even the accents are subdued. Very cool.
swanem 14th December 2004, 03:58 I gotta learn how to do that black paint! I NEED IT! Chrome don't get you home.
collinsb 14th December 2004, 04:20 I gotta learn how to do that black paint! I NEED IT! Chrome don't get you home.
No Swanem, it's black paint don't get you home! It's complicated to explain the physics of it all, but due to wind resistance and such, it is a scientific proven fact, that chrome bikes go faster than non chrome bikes. Some very easy math can prove this to be true. I don't have time to do the math, as it is time for a beer and a Quater Pound Value Meal with a large fries.

Broncodog 14th December 2004, 04:23 Ftotal = (Froll + Fslope + Faccel + Fwind)/h
where h : drivetrain efficiency, dimensionless.
The individual retarding forces are described as follows:
Froll = cr m g where cr : coefficient of rolling resistance, dimensionless
m : total mass of the vehicle with driver in kg
g : acceleration due to gravity » 9.81 m/s2
Values for cr for typical sportster tires and surfaces range between 0.0015 and 0.015.
Fslope = s m g where s : upward slope, dimensionless
Faccel = a m where a : acceleration in m/s [m/s2 ?]
Fwind = r cw A vwind2 /2 where r : density of air in kg/m3
cw : coefficient of wind resistance, dimensionless
A : frontal area in m2
vwind : wind velocity in m/s
The power required to overcome the total drag is:
P = Ftotal v where v : velocity in m/s

My Garage leads to the World
Through direct Links. Veins in a Body.
Shining Chrome and Steel awaits Within
Behind locked Doors She sleeps. Silent. Waiting.
Dawn rises; a pink and blue horizon Beckons
Calling me to Flow through the Veins of this World
To seek the Arteries of Life.
Cover off; Door open to the Dawn
Starter pulses. She awakes. Living.
Rumbling quietly, Power breathes through Chrome Nostrils
My body responds; Chilled and Warm together. Pride.
Passion lives.
1st gear. Movement. Down the drive, That first Capillary to this World.
No cars disturb the Flow. No infections to our Dawn. It is early.
Too early for the Cages, Those Whores of 4 wheels.
Seeking the Dollar they Sell their Souls for Pennies.
Too early for the Children, Awaiting their Fate.
In School to learn Despair and Boredom.
There is only Me and Steel and Chrome. Alive. Free.
Moving easily down these Capillaries near home
Heading for the Veins and Arteries of Life
On to the Arterial Slab; Gears move upward;
Her polite Rumble becomes a Roar.
Wind howls. Torn. Ripped by Acceleration.
Hair flies back. Eyes become slits. Knuckles become white.
Mileposts flash by; Pickets in the Wind
The Corners pull; I lean with the Machine
Feeling Victory over forces of Gravity and Nature
Who Strain to harm Me; To Defeat this Steel and Chrome.
Her Engine Throbs; each Pulse a Breath
Faster She Breathes; Stronger I feel. Grinning.
Leaning forward I strain for all; Her Tail fully Twisted.
The Needle at max, The road a Blur beneath my Boots.
Suddenly…… A Remnant before me.
Bloated body. Serpent of many Forms. A Retread Skin.
It waits In my path. No time to Evade.
Death looms for me; Ruin looms for Her.
Desperately I rise on the boards; Move my weight. Change the Forces.
Impact.
I rise. I fly.
She howls with the Loss of Load; She Screams at the Dawn.
I Scream with Her.
The road below. Nearing. Rising to meet us. Hard. Unforgiving.
Impact.
She Curtsies; Her shocks alive and fighting the G’s. I Bow with Her.
Rebound.
We fly again. We land again. The Skin of the Serpent is Past
We Live
Slowing now; Adrenalin pumping, Oil flowing,
We Breathe.
We Rejoice.
We have Fought the Serpent and We Live.
But for Skill and Chance We know We Die.
So We Live.
Youth has returned; Old no longer, We Live!
This Chrome and Steel Beast has Bestowed a Gift
I Breathe deeply of the Gift.
She cannot live without me.
I cannot live without her.
We will ride again to Seek the Serpent
Whatever Form He takes
For the Serpent is Youth.
The Serpent is Life

Very well rounded there Gordy! :wonderlan
earthoverdrive 23rd December 2004, 02:36 Don't forget about the added weight of chrome though! Smooth steel or clear coated paint should be faster, right?
