I'm a new owner. See my post in Introduce Yourself. I live in Houston, Tx and decided to buy a Racing Orange '05 1200R. I wanted a no option bike at MSRP. Only one dealer in the Houston area had one like I wanted. They were willing to sell it for MSRP but they wanted a ridiculous amount of money for a set-up charge.
When I called Texan Harley-Davidson in Conroe, Tx, they said they would sell at MSRP and their set-up charge was the lower than what I had been quoted by the other dealers. They didn't have the bike I wanted but said they would try to find one. They called me back and told me they had located one and they would trade the other dealer one of theirs to get it if I wanted it. No charge for trading and no charge for transporting the bikes between the dealers. We made a deal and they drove 120 miles round trip to make the dealer trade.
I was supposed to pick up the bike today. It's been 20 years since I've ridden a bike and I didn't want to start off riding again with a 40 mile Houston freeway trip. I made arrangements for a biker friend with a trailer to take me to Conroe to pick up the bike.
Today my friend couldn't make it so it looked like I was going to have to wait until Monday to pick-up the bike. I called Texan and told them of my problem and asked them if I went there and did all the paperwork if they could deliver the bike. They agreed to deliver the bike for no charge! An 80 mile round trip.
When I got there, they treated me like royality. They took me around and introduced me to the different department sales staff and managers. I am really impressed with the way they do business. After years of car dealers trying to screw me whenever I woud go to buy a car, it was really a pleasant experience to do business with them. A special thanks to all the employees of Texan H-D. Guess who's going to get my future business.
