hello all.first posts .great site been lurking for a cpl months.i am going to add cs tapers to my 2006 xl custom.should i wait till after the 1000 mile checkup to add them on. or does it matter ? thanks for any help.. great site .my sportster makes my day every day :tour

I wouldn't (and didn't). I wasn't interested in the noise - I wanted performance so I went with the CS slipons, SE A/C and jets right out of the box. Never looked back.

Go ahead with the install, ain't no reason to hold off on non-engine/tranny mods... just "git 'er done."

I waited until my 500 mark was up and then went a little longer. I had them do my 1000 mile service and add the parts at the same time. I dont know if I needed to or not.

No reason to wait. Just stay away from the Screamin' Eagle air cleaner when you do the rest of your Stage 1. Don't let the dealer talk you into anything you do not want or isn't any good.
