Top trap speeds were higher earlier in the year. At the beginning of the year I needed more power to get into the low 10's,and it showed in how fast I was going at the end of the run -135-138 mph!!!! But as my starts improved I tuned the nitrous down (that 10.04 run was a small 20 hp shot)and the bike was at a slower trap speed. This is another way of differentiating being quick from being fast. My starts got so much better that to hit the low 10's I needed less horsepower....they say every tenth you cut off in the first sixty feet saves you 2 tenths by the end of the 1/4. In otherwords...running high 135 mph runs and only getting 10.2 to 10.4 times meant my starts were lousy, but they improved. Hope that makes sense.

You are right...in fact it matters so little I let the guy in other lane go the measely 60 feet before I even leave the line.....whats 60 feet when you have got a whole quarter mile to catch'em.
