I have a 1998 custom 1200 and i have the battery charged all the way and every time i hit the start button the solienoid just clicks like the battery is low what do you think it is thanks Austin

Definitely sounds like a battery cable or loose connection on the battery cables.

what solenoid is doing the "clicking"? the slave or the one on the starter

the one on the starter, i have checked all my cables many times

outside chance the solenoid is going bad or the internal contacts are burned/ dirty/oil coated

OK, you put it on a charger for X time. You say it is charged. How many volts do you read before you push the start switch. How many volts after you push the start switch. You may have a Batt that will read volts but won't hold a charge, if that makes sense. Batteries can go bad anytime but usually last a few years if taken care of, if not, they may only last one season

it loses about .2 to .3 volts when you hit the start button, are you saying i need a new starter

could it be the relay maybe, i took the relay out and hooked up my battery to it and it made a clicking noise is that good
