I need my fix! darett 22nd July 2008, 15:29 me too me too Bob F 22nd July 2008, 16:07 Hopefully some time today. Kev M 22nd July 2008, 16:15 You'd think a company like Harley that publishes in its own mag (HOG) that they are going to show the new models on X date would have that website up and running by midnight that morning. Either they're purposely trying to ensure the dealers really see/hear the news first, so they've instructed their IT people not to let the new site go live until after the dealer meeting either starts (even ends for the whatever session they're having) OR they haven't given any thought to it and just told the IT people to have it go live today (which would be annoying). At least they could have something on the website saying - see the new models and a time! Kev kdarejr 22nd July 2008, 16:24 I guy at the Road King Riders site says Noon ! I dunno ! Kev M 22nd July 2008, 16:55 I seem to remember the site being up very early on a Monday last year. REALLY - I seem to remember sitting and waiting and sitting and waiting - then again, sometimes I'm up early too... Kev M 22nd July 2008, 16:56 They must be updating it now, or it's inundated with traffic, cause I'm having problems getting back on it. roadogette 22nd July 2008, 17:00 They were going on line after the dealers saw the bikes first. Nine thirty Vegas time. el jinete fantasma 22nd July 2008, 17:02 I think the forum is causing the site to crash! :laugh powellsanmiguel 22nd July 2008, 17:32 It's probably because they have to post the pictures of the HD televisions as well as the motorcycles. Takes more time. ahernandez23 22nd July 2008, 17:38 Well I guess we have to wait somemore. el jinete fantasma 22nd July 2008, 17:47 Seven minutes! ... jeez, this is pathetic... :laugh roadogette 22nd July 2008, 17:50 Site came right up, but no news yet CaptEvo 22nd July 2008, 17:53 I bought a Harley Davidson scratch off ticket today and won 10 bucks. Hey I'm an old guy and have my HD retro picks, xl 883, Springer Classic, I was hoping for a v-rod bagger or big inch water cooled touring. I was looking for a sport touring bike and I think its a lot of bike for the price of a XB12XT. Kev M 22nd July 2008, 18:42 Is this spectulation or is the XR1200 really coming out? I've been told by a previously reliable source that it IS coming out... however he did not specifiy that the announcement was THIS dealer's meeting... could be in Jan/Fed too.... darett 22nd July 2008, 18:48 DAMN this is torture the page finially refreshed and nothing Terp84Alum 22nd July 2008, 18:49 I just called my buddy at my dealer and he was very tight lipped. WHY was he tight lipped, the Moco said through their own magazine that the press embargo was over today - he and others should be free to speak about this if that's the case... :frownone jeeplite 22nd July 2008, 19:00 I don't know what their logic is for dragging this out , makes me a little PO'd. I'm still thinking that it's going to involve an expansion of the XR line... as a matter of fact I don't buy for a moment this is it for the 09 line. They've eliminated EVERY SINGLE MODEL with a higher seat height, dual discs and any SPORTing bent - there's GOTTA be a reason for that. I think they're bringing out AT LEAST the XR1200 - maybe in a day, maybe a week, maybe a month, maybe 6 months, but I stand by that prediction. Or they're gonna do something even MORE radical in 2010. el jinete fantasma 22nd July 2008, 23:11 Still... this Sportster line-up is supposed to tide them over for a year... and that's assuming the XR comes over mid-year. A slightly-sportified 1200R would be decent middle ground between the XR and the cruiser low Sporties. Folkie 22nd July 2008, 23:40 In the UK there are eight models: 883 883 Low 883 Custom 883R Nightster 1200 Low 1200 Custom XR 1200 Kev M 23rd July 2008, 01:17 Still... this Sportster line-up is supposed to tide them over for a year... and that's assuming the XR comes over mid-year. A slightly-sportified 1200R would be decent middle ground between the XR and the cruiser low Sporties. HUH? No this lineup will hold them over for 6 months IF the XR comes mid-year. And the slightly sportified 1200R was just what they discontinued, probably for a reason - to build demand for the XR is my guess. Hell haven't we seen some people requesting the 1200R just since they stopped shipping them? Sleeper 23rd July 2008, 01:40 V-Rod "Muscle" is a NEW Model ! If they added all the new goody's: inverted forks, Brembo brakes with ABS, more engine displacement, horsepower and torque, a 240 mm rear tire, and lighter wheels. Without changing the front rake and styling, they would of had a killer bike. :frownthre Kev M 23rd July 2008, 01:45 If they added all the new goody's: inverted forks, Brembo brakes with ABS, more engine displacement, horsepower and torque, a 240 mm rear tire, and lighter wheels. Sleeper 23rd July 2008, 01:56 Wait, what IS different about the "muscle" other than the uber-gay name? Did the other v-rods get the same goody's? Kev M 23rd July 2008, 02:10 Did the other v-rods get the same goody's? What goodies? As far as I can tell all the V-rods have the same 4-pot brembos (as oppossed to the 6-pots they used briefly on the Street Rod). They all have the same displacement. The base V-rod, not the Night or Muscle, has the most ground clearance (not that it's by much). They all have forwards, not the mids of the street rod? Tires are the same on all of them. Not sure about front suspension, maybe they did something on the muscle I dunno? FYI, I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm just asking if I'm overlooking something. I know your not being difficult. I tried to open HD's site for more info on all the v-rods, but it's so slow I haven't obtained any info on the other v-rods. I didn't know they all had the same up grades or equipment. asphalt addict 23rd July 2008, 02:25 The Muscle has a different torque specification, 86.00 ft lbs @ 6500. |
