I have a 2005 883L with new jets and SE air cleaner, when I take off sometimes my bike will fart, I am new at this and need some help. It will do it even when I have been riding for a long while

who put the "new" jets in and do yu know what they were???

Where are you??? altitude, temp, location

does it do it from just off idle or a bit further???? and how far are you opening the throttle when it does it..????

Is it worse if you wind the throttle open further or just lightly???

2004 883C does the same. Biggs HD, San Marcos, CA did mine.
Here's my stats:
Altitude 500-1000'
Temp 65 winter, 90 summer
Just off idle, dosn't seem to when opening throttle at take off.
So, bad rejetting by HD dealer or what?

A couple of things affect the off idle to light throttle acceleration...

WHat I've found is that if you have a stumble in this area and the pilot jet has already been increased one size then try a shim under the needle...

about 0.020" thick for starters...this will cure it in most cases.

I am going to take the carb apart and see what jets are in it, I got them when I put my drag pipes on. I put the jets in, I am just learning I did not do the adjustments with that thing drilled out I was afaird I would screw it up. I did drill it. I will look and see what I have to do to adjuct them.
