I finally have 2 wheels on the bike again after one hell of an ordeal with my local HD store.I mentioned on a previous post about finding the chrome coming off on my rear wheel.Back at the beginning of march I had the bike on the jack to do a good spring cleaning & pull the rear wheel to have my new metzeler installed. I noticed the chrome bubbling up on the wheel so I stopped what I was doing & rode over to the dealer to show them.The girl(Nancy)in their service dept is a sweetheart,she always remembers my name and is always pleasant to deal with even though I've had very little work done there.Anyway she looks at my wheel & agrees that the chrome is bad & says she'll get one on order. She said it should be a week or so,I asked if I could just bring the wheel instead of the whole bike as I'd prefer to do my own work,she said no problem(they get to charge Hd for all the warranty labor for R&Ring the wheel anyway)So I go back home & take the bike apart & wait(March was really cold & rainy here this year so I wasn't loosing any good riding time)Almost 2 wks go by so I called up the dealer, they told me it's not in yet,but it's not on back-order so I left the bike apart.After 3 wks I called again,still no wheel,but this time the parts guy told me it had been shipped.At 5 wks(easter weekend) I called on Friday,I get the parts manager on the phone & she tells me nothing is on order for me,she doesn't know what happened but she's sorry!!She said she'd put the order in that day.If I had known it was going to be a month& a half I would have put the bike back together!!Another week goes by & nothing,I call again(I'm sure they really love me by now!!)she tells me she can't believe it but the order still didn't go through!!I told her I'd be right over!I get to the dealer & she's all apologetic I asked her what do you have in stock & will you give me a decent deal on an upgrade,it's now the end of April & it's time to ride.Other than a couple of spoked wheels the only thing they had was the "skull fire" wheel,which is an $800 wheel.She was really decent and discounted it so it ended up costing me $120 to upgrade instead of over $300.As you can see by my pics I have ALLOT of flame "stuff" on my bike so the wheel looks great on the bike,I don't really care for the skulls but they look cool.I still wasn't quite done though.I ran home picked up my wheel & new Metzeler & brought it back.Nancy was off so I get a service guy I'd never met before.I told him I'd be back for the wheel the next day(sat)since I was on my way to work He tells me that they're reeeeally busy & he doesn't know if they can get to it!!!Without pulling him over the counter I explain to him that it's been almost 2 months & I will be back for it the next day & it will be ready!!!I go back on Sat,the wheels' sitting there with my new metzeler on it but they put the f:censor g tire on the wrong way!!!Of coarse they changed it while I waited!!I was going to take the bike in for one last look over before the warranty expires in another month but I don't think I want them touching by bike!! At least it's back on the road!!!:clap :clap
