Friend of mine just picked up a '99 X1 yesterday. The guy said it has N4 cams in it already. How different from stock are these? Does anyone know the stock grind numbers for these Buell's?

That model had the SE .497's in it stock, he wasted his money if that's the case.

I just bought a set of stock 2000 X1 cams for my 96' Sporty, with the high contact pinion gear. They are SE .497's.

His X1 came from the factory with SE bolt-ins, literally the X1 parts book has the same part number for replacement cams that you find in the SE catalog (25648-91 if memory serves).

The specs on the SE bolt-ins are virtually identical to N4's, they show one lobe as having a 2 degree timing difference and a tiny difference in lift on both lobes. But a friend who works for PDC tells me that it has to do with how the measurement is taken and the rocker ratio assumption, and that SE bolt-ins literally are N4's and HD gets them from Andrews. So in reality, the stock cams in an X1 are N4's.

Okay, that's cool, so no better than stock. Well Aaron I'm gonna be coming out over the 4th and I'm trying to get him to come with now that he's got a Buell, so you'll have to convince him he needs something better!

By the fourth my X1 should have underwent a transformation so it should be easy to convince him that his X1 needs the NRHS treatment!! ;)

I have a cam question regarding the newer SE 575 cams that I was thinking of getting for my x1. I phoned my dealer and they told me according the there books that the se575 had a 256/266 duration (I guess the same as the se536?). I have seen a 260/260 listed on the NRHS site, is the dealer wrong or is it a missprint?

I got the new 575 lift cams today, they are a split duration. Here is the s-e cam info out of the s/e book, hopefully it's clear enough to read to anyone that interested.
