I bought an HJC AC-3 (http://motorcyclehelmets.net/yvs500/shopexd.asp?id=63) helmet and shield from these guys. The website says "We pride ourselves on having 'The BEST' customer service anywhere." and "HJC [] products are usually shipped via UPS and received within 2-5 business days." I'm not feeling it.

The price was very good, and they got the order shipped from the distributor quickly. All good, except MH.net made a mistake and had the distributor send the wrong size.

Ok, mistakes happen. I e-mailed, then called and after a few more days they sent UPS for pickup at their cost - fair enough.

They didn't ship the new helmet right away, and they didn't ship when the return got to them - not until a week AFTER the return got to them. I can understand waiting until the UPS return got there, to make sure I didn't send a bag of flour. But they got the initial order sent faster than that. The extra week of waiting, plus the delays in responding to my initial problem and in shipping, made it over a month from my order to receive the right helmet.

Summary: Good price, mediocre service, despite what the site says.

Send them an email asking why the 'poor' service.

If you don't get a reasonable answer, copy the link to this thread and email that to them.

Good customer service does more than guarantee repeat customers, it is the basis for word-of-mouth/referal customers. Bad service, no matter what the savings on the products, means continuously trying to get 'new' customers to replace loss of potential repeat customers.

I would hope that this is one that got stuck in the cracks...

No offense, but $15 off list doesnt seem to justify the wait.

Do you not have a MC shop in your area where you can wheel and deal?

When you find out who runs most of the wholesale shops...you would be suprised.

Lots a good ones out there, but I think the market is shifting to make them less and less of a bargain.

Nice helmet btw...

But you saved money...

Being able to speak with someone in person is worth paying a little extra for. Please tell me that you didn't go to a local shop, try on one of their instock helmets and then ordered one over the 'net.

I will not order anything from any vendor over the 'net without someone else's recommendation. Although I would usually prefer the 'net over most of the local HD dealers.

Support your local indy. There are good ones out there but they need your support.

No - I don't like to do that. I read good things here and other places about the particular model and found that HJC sizes were the same as (my current) KBC. If I found the helmet locally, I would have bought it in a shop where I could try it on, and get support (and if they wanted a whole lot more, I'd have asked for something closer to the internet price - no harm in asking).

I picked the site based on price (although a couple others were the same) a couple positive reviews (couldn't find many for sites that sell HJC) and the promise of quick shipping.
