View Full Version : Sluggish Speedometer

If I don't ride my bike for a week or longer and I start it up and take off, the speedometer very slowly rises at about half the speed I'm going. Sometimes it works itself out in a couple of miles. Most times I turn it off and restart and all is fine.
Any ideas? (other than to ride it every day)

Ciould be a speed sensor problem. Might want to check it. I had an issue with mine not reg speed at all but would jump when juice was applied. give it a look. You might want to spray contact cleaner in the plug and then try it. Or see if its loose.

Had my speed sensor replaced at 17,000 (still under warranty) for doing the same thing...Not working and or bouncing around. Now I'm at 22,000 and I'm returning to the stealer to have it replaced again...
My theory on this is that there is too much metal floating around in the case and the magnetic pick-up is picking it up.I contribute this mainly to my use of the syn-3 in the both holes . I have since changed to the new HD primary stuff. So far I like it
