I saw a dyno plot for an XB9 with the Micron exhaust and a custom ECM map, that broke 90 HP with a nice power curve. There was no information if it had a lot of other mods.
Thats a pretty remarkable number for an XB9... anyone had any first hand experience? Can you really go from the stock 76 hp or so to the 90's with just exhaust, intake, and ECM mods?
(not that I would be spending the money, I have an aftermarket modded exhaust sitting on a shelf in the garage because stock was quieter and got me more miles per gallon... my interest is more academic)

Don't know the answer to your question, as I've never tested one, although we did get into the 87 range with Force pipes on a 9.
But in any event, welcome Bill!!!

Thanks Aaron! Good to be here!
I think Al Lighton posted the dyno. I was amazed that you could crack 90 hp at the wheel on an XB9 with *any* streetable exhaust / ecm / intake combo. I assumed you would also need headwork and a displacement bump to get anywhere near there.

The new techno research tuning software is showing some amazing ability to make great power with a good exhaust and air cleaner set-up. Just imagine what an XB can do with our headwork, big bore kit and bigger cams!! ;)

First post here.....
The XB9 in question was an 03 XB9 equipped with a K&N filter, ASB open airbox kit, Micron, and the tuning, nothing more. The ASB open airbox kit routes the breathers out and replaces the the inner airbox with a fiberglass cap that has the same inverted nipple over the velocity stack that the stock airbox has. It was tuned by Terry Parsley at HD/Buell of Vallejo, at sea level on a Dynojet 250. It had one run that hit 93 RWHP, but 91 RWHP is more typical.
Terry got close to that same top number after tuning a Ti-Force with an otherwise identical configuration using directlink as well. But the curve shapes were quite different. The micron had a nicer curve.
This is my first post here (Thanks, Aaron!), I tried to to link to the badweb dyno plot image but you have to have 15 posts first before you can do that.

I am looking at a 06 firebolt, my mecanhic said that a micron kit was the way to go. The spec's say 100hp. He said more like 90 but with a micron system it would go over a 100. Hmmm might have to get the heads cams done as well. Trouble is that the system is $2500 Aus plus tuning. Adds up what are they worth over there.
