Well I finally got my bike on the dyno after the repair were complete from the accident.

I have posted many times in the Air Filter, Carb/Injection, Fuel forum that I was chasing an optimum jetting setup. In summary, with my SEII and SE A/C Stage One setup I have jumped fthe pilot rom a 42 to a 48 to a 45 back to a 48 and now a 45 once again.

Prior to my accident the 48 pilot was quite responsive and my gas mileage was close to 50 mpg.

Now that I have dyno tuned it, they put the 45 back in and some of the hesitiation/surging at throttle roll on is back when cruising. The 48 had all but fixed this prior to this last change.

My question is, based on the dyno sheet, does the A/F look too rich for the 48 which is the first run in red. It seems to hover around 12:1 in the cruising RPM range. The change to the 45 has leaned it out a bit to around 14.5 which is still not too lean and added a dip to the torque curve right around the cruising RPM range (I am thinking this is the cause of the surging reappearing).

I like the look of the A/F and HP/Torque curve for the 48 setup and the power numbers are both higher with the 48.

Would I be crazy to tune back to the 48 and its consitent A/F numbers?

Thanks,
Scott

It looks to me like the 45 is the right pick, yet you should step up your main by one size.

the H.P. red line in the graph shows a better curve to me though the A/F ratio don't

You have to remember that this dyno is showing everything at WOT, so cruising speed plays no role in here.

I would tend to agree with Lynk that you need to not be only looking at your pilot jet. The 45 might be the better choice here (maybe try a 46, that's whayt I ended up with), and maybe step up the main, or give the needle and adjustment.

You aren't going to be able to see any surging at cruising speed on a dyno because you're only running at 1/4 throttle then at most, and a dyno is WOT.
