Alright folks, I have spent all evening looking for mirrors to fit a 2005 Buell Blast.
I came across a $219 billet aluminum set that'll fit the stock lever mount, ouch. I found a British site that had some nice mirrors for the XB lineup. Ebay has nothing.
Will other Buell mirrors fit on a Blast? Or will some other bike company have compatible mirrors? All my old Harley mirrors have fine threads and this thing has coarse threads on both screw holes.
Thanks in advance.

Before I go, I might just get the Crossroads handlebars, some nice grips and just put the end-bar clamp-on mirrors on unless someone's already got the problem solved.
All I'd have to do then is find a rubber plug to fill the stock hole on lever mount.

Alright folk, I have an update.
I went with the Crossroad Performance bars. When ordering mirrors, I called them up to get the ID of their bars and the fellow on the phone said they had bar end mirrors in stock, but they weren't their manufacture (so they weren't listed on the website). They were able to update my order and get both out in the same box.
I ordered the Jardine exhaust from Ironmachine.
I called Battlefield Harley over in Gettysburg and ordered the Pro-line airbox and the standard seat. While I was on the phone doing that we also ordered a Buell tune-up kit and scheduled a tune-up on their dyno to dial in the carburetor with the new exhaust and air cleaner.
Come the end of the month, the kid'll have a really nice Blast to ride around. I will update y'all with before and after pictures later.
Thanks a lot everyone for all the help getting started on the Buell line.

You will need to fabricate a support bracket to be used with the new pro series air cleaner otherwise it will just be hanging which in turn will cause your intake boot to crack which can then leave you stranded on the side of the road. :(

Thanks for the info. I'll have to take a look at it in more detail to prevent such a thing from happening. You would think being a Buell part that they'd have it properly supported.
Since the air cleaner and exhaust are going to affect the carburetion, I'm having all three done at the same time. I'll ask Battlefield Harley about it as well.
Taking a quick look at it now, I'd say the best place to come up would be from the right side attachment point on the cases where the present air cleaner is partly supported.
Here's a picture of some mods I made to an '84 FXST. I took out the brake resevoir and electronic points and their plates between the downtubes. We then put in a plate up on top for the voltage regulator and using a piece of angle iron, came up from the engine mounting bolts and used a little of the original oil filter plate and tucked it in real nice.

Also think about going with an upgraded boot as well, we (my wife's bike actually) went with a multilayer silicone boot, less likely to crack, we even had our friend add them to his online business at www.turbotime.us, just search for "Blast" in his parts.
the wife's bike is running clip-ons and a Ram-flo aircleaner with the upgraded boot and dual springs for added support.
here is the clipons with bar ends

Thank you so much for the added information on your fix and the website link. I ordered two and will have one put on when we do the air cleaner.
Your spring arrangement looks interesting. I take it there's one in the back as well. I'll have to look into supporting the carburetor like that. It looks a lot better than coming up from the engine case and attaching to the Pro-line's bottom would.
Thanks again.

Today we put the Crossroads Performance bars on. They are a real nice set up. Not only are they nicely machined and go on well; they feel great!
They give you a lot more feel for the bike and the change in body position makes you feel like you're hugging the ground. It's a real nice change. Gone is any kind of unstable feeling you get at high speed. My son reports that he's much more comfortable in the turns as well.
The Baren ('bar end' without the "d") mirrors are okay but for the price they're great too! ($30) They have an adjustable stem, and we ended up with them literally on top of the grips.
