Almost all the stop lights in this city are set up with road sensors that can tell when a car has pulled in the lane. Well I figured out today that my bike doesnt set them off and if theres no car behind me Im stuck in the left turn lane for 2-3 cycles of the light till a car pulls behind me. Happened 3 times today. :frownthre Does anyone else have this problem?

All the time. After a reasonable time, I just do what I need to and explain to any passing cop what happened. They know all about traffic controls. I'd be surprised if you get hassled. The key word here is reasonable amount of time.

They make degaussers for that. Not sure how well they work tho.

Green Light Trigger (http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/product.asp?Item=GLTRIG)

That's not what I was really thinking of, but I saw some wired devices before that claim to do the same thing. It appears to be nothing more than a magnet. And, to correct myself, "deguass" would be the wrong term. ;)

I wonder if anyone on the forum has gotten on of those Green light triggers. I have run into stoplights like that before. I gets kind of frustrating.

Here is a review I found.....
Looks like it works… somewhat.
I also heard that if you stop more towards the ends or off center, of the rectangular cut out on the road, and shutdown, then restart the bike, the sensor will pick up the magnetic field from the starter and trip... Sounds reasonable, but haven't tried either.

the 1st light coming out of my neighborhood is awful. i often wait for my neighbor to leave just to avoid having to run the light. i agree with will, wait a little bit, then do what you gotta do.

The "Signal Sorcerrer" for $20.00 from JC Whitney will cure this. It's just a magnetic source that you stick on the frame that lets the "inductive loops" of the traffic lite system recognize the bike. I have one on each of my bikes and I don't have to wait for people to come up behind me at traffic lites any more.

What I do in these situations is try and stop on the little lines there the electronic trigger for the light is at. Most of the time it works.
