When I got my 00 X1 the dealer had it dynoed with the race kit installed, we are about 3000ft above sea level here. Don't know if these numbers are good/great or not, all I do know is the front wheel won't stay down if I crack the throttle at 3000rpm and the bike trys to flip me off onto my ass if I don't back off the thottle. click on pic

87 hp is a very healthy X1. You got a good one there! :)

I agree, that's a nice running bike!

In our "dyno room" ... http://www.nrhsperformance.com/dynoroom.shtml ... there's a chart for Rich Martinez. He brought us a nearly identical X1, race kit already installed and making 87hp. We installed a 1250 kit and did his heads to Stage 2 and tossed in some SE 536 cams. After break-in, we dyno tuned it (he got a Power Commander as well) and he picked up 17hp with one of the prettiest curves I've ever seen. So they respond pretty well, eve with the DDFI, to a little work. We can make more of course, but the costs start really going up beyond that point.

Thanks for showing me that, really nice power curve. I really like those numbers. I am wondering, what do you think that bike could of made HP wise with the same parts but with stage 3 heads? and do you think using the power commander was worth anything in terms of HP, I have seen some bad things said about those because of "piggybacking"?

btw that John Gilliland's bike numbers are very cool.

OK, so got all the parts I need now and am going to get the NEW engine conversion started next week keeping on the same "race kit"lol and using NRHS stage 3 ported heads, S-E 536 cams with 4140 adjustable pushrods, RevPerf 1.67 roller rockers and 1250 cly kit with a bunch of other goodies, chain drive, oil cooler and so on. Once it's all broken in I will dyno it again, I am keeping my fingers crossed for another 20-25 HP on top of what I had before. I will post the dyno results when I get it done, I think it will be an interesting comparison to my old stock setup.

I'll be fitting a 1250 kit off Dan as soon as it gets here so I can do a direct comparison

Kazoom,
Did you ever get your bike dynoed after your stage 3 NRHS build? Do you have the new dyno chart to post?

Hi there, sorry guys, just got back on this site, everything in my life has been on hold/sitting as I have just finished a/my divorce, now got to try to pick up where I left off lol. Just going to be starting up some of my projects again this summer. I only got about 200km on my 01 X1 after conversion and parked it so it will be a bit before I dyno it, I can say though that I can feel quite a big diffrence in power and pulls the front wheel a lot easyer. I hope by fall I can get it dynoed. My 00 X1 is now going to get a engine conversion, just bought a 114" (170hp) S&S pro stock engine so its next to get modded into a hotrod bike, looking forward to building something very unique...
