Hi all

Did my first 500 mile day on the Sporty and found a couple things out. One is new grips are in the works and second need some new foot rests. At 70 miles per hour I found the peg vibration a little uncomfortable. Looking for ideas on good pegs that will be more comforable if possible. The two I've looked at so far are the HD Airflow pegs the Kuryakyn pegs. Anyone have any experience with either? Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I have the airflow pegs, and they're nice. I wear boots with pretty thick soles and don't feel too much, but any other footwear and it's a different story.

But the all time best pegs for trips are the anti-vibration pegs. They aren't much to look at, but they are comfy as your bedroom slippers.

I have Kuryakyn Switchblades and love them, have done 300 mile rides and have had no issues. http://xlforum.net/photopost/data/500/4445-harleySwitchblade_Footpegs.jpg

I can't say I've noticed any vibration in the pegs at all, but then I've not done any 500 mile days (nothing like), so who am I to say?

What worries me about this is that I've got the stock pegs at the moment (which are supposed to be anti vibration) and I'm thinking of changing to the billet pegs, these:

Is this a bad idea, will I start getting vibration?

I put the Kuryakyn Large ISO pegs with stirrups on my 2005 1200 Custom. Very comfortable and look great. Put the small ISO pegs for passenger.

I also have the Kuryakyn stirrups. Made a Big difference on 300-400 mile days. Wouldn't ever go back. :tour

I have a set of Kuryakyn Switchblade pegs and some standard ISO pegs on my highway bar. I like having the flexibility to move my foot position around quite a bit and vibration has never been a problem.

I fitted the h-d anti-vibration pegs about two years ago along with the anti-vibe grips, great job as I use mine for touring and had no probs with runs up 350 odd miles. I also fitted a touring seat.

Yep... switchblades here two. Big difference. Don't work too good with cowboy boots though. But all ya got to do is fold up the sturip.
