I`m planning on building an Egli-style frame for my 2001 m2 buell. does anybody know to what extent the sportster engine can be used as a stressed frame member-ala Vincent. I want something different with as little frame showing as possible. Anybody got any ideas, structural or otherwise why this could not,or should not be done?

I'm sure with enough skill and ingenuity you can do just about anything you set your mind to. But the mock Vincent is already being done. Using a Honda V-twin. Sportster motor should look sweet though. But to me the real beauty of the Vincent was the engine. A real piece of genuine art. http://www.vincentmotors.com/BIK/?PHPSESSID=d4b55e3fd7cf2df6bf325420bd0311fd

I am sure it can be done, hell the Buell blast uses the engine as a stressed member(the swingarm mounts to the engine)
