Just read a good article in one of the magazines. It was about Buell, and how they are racing at Daytona with a chance to win! Don't remember what class they race, but different size bikes can race in this class. Lots of "high tech" 600's in the class, and Buell has been finishing in the top 10, leaving over 20 "high tech" 600's behind them. They've been doing lots of research, and now the are producing upper 120- lower 130's for horsepower. Buell is really getting serious, and imagine how that technology will trickle down to our Sporties.

Along related lines, the V-rod unseated Suzuki in the NHRA drag race championships in the 2004 series. The first time ever! It took HD and Vance & Hines about 5 years worth of development to get to that point. So if Buell can't get there this year it might not take too much longer.

The Buells that are in contention in the Supersport class at Daytona actually bear a close resemblance to a production Buell. Eric has worked hard to get to this point. Good for him!
The V-Rod that won the NHRA crown, bears a closer resemblance to an old Knuckle Head than it does to an actual V-Rod. Yes, it has handlebars and two wheels and a twin cylinder engine. Any other resemblance is a mere halucination. My god, the NHRA bike is a "pushrod" engine. V-Rods are overhead cam.

I have to disagree...lookin at some pictures I can see a belt and 2 pullys running up to the rockerboxes. Looks OHC to me.
