I'm new to AZ, going to MMI night classes (started 8/11), and looking for good rides and people to ride with, anybody got advice? I'm in Glendale/N. Phx area.
Also, my fiance wants to learn how to ride, anybody recommend a local rider safety course for her?
Desert is a little different from the good old green mountains for us...

Check the Arizona section. Welcome to the board. I'm sure there are plenty of great rides out there.

For safety training, the place to go is http://www.motorcycletraining.com/new/index.htm
They even have women only sessions (at least I think they still do..)
Welcome to the Valley of the Sun...
You will enjoy riding year round...
Best advice... make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids.. the days can get hot, especially when out riding in the afternoons in the summer.. nice and toasty hot.. like sitting in an oven... with the heat coming off the asphalt, off your engine, and just soaking out of the air around you, it pulls the moisture out of you real quick.. (just about all of the Harley dealerships have free bottles of water for you when you drop in...)

Welcome. Its not too bad of a place to be. Be sure to take a ride up to the Prescott area but go the back way up Yarnell hill. Also check out http://www.cyclerides.com/ for local stuff.

Welcome to the forum from Gilbert, AZ. Several of us get together for group rides periodically.
I used TEAM Arizona (http://www.motorcycletraining.com/new/index.htm) for my MSF. Although I rode for 10+ years I spent another 10 years without riding before buying my current bike. Wierd how many bad habits I had picked up. It also allowed me to get my license before I picked up my bike...

For a MSF course, try Ride Smart. Don is a really nice guy and taught my wife. I also have a coworker who took both the Team Arizona and Ride Smart. He prefered the Ride Smart as they were less militant.
Welcome to AZ. Check the board as we ride a bit (especially when its cooler). The xlforum crew here is pretty cool. I moved here two years ago and one of the guys, Indyredneck, was a groomsman in my wedding and Azflyingdriver, married us.
