Took the barebones on a 300 mile trip and I was numb at about 200 miles. It was actually agonizing. Well, I got rid of the le pera barebones seat and pillion, and got a used saddlemen explorer for less than what I sold the barebones for. Hopehully this will make these trips more enjoyable, even if it wont look nearly as good as the barebones.

I have the Saddlemen Explorer also and love it. For me it is very comfy. here is a pic.

Does anyone have any info on how to get a driver backrest on a 2003 883xlh?
I have a two up seat with passenger pinion, but my bad back is in need of a backrest for myself. I will swap out the whole ensemle is necessary, but would prefer to just add a bolt on backrest.

Never seen a bolt-on backrest for a 2-up for the driver. Take a look at Mustang for a two-up with a driver backrest built in. Read good things about it if that's what you need...:banana:banana:banana

Anyone know if the Mustang Wide solo seat (#79376) for the '04' Sportster will fit an '03'? Did the seat screw location change from 03 to 04?

I do not think on 03 seat will fit an 04.
The seats are all advertised as 03 and down -- 04 and up,

Thanks Snowman. I already checked out the Mustang page. It lists 03 and 04 as separate seats, but sometimes they just do that for the heck of it. There was an 04 on ebay for $400 front and $160 back, so I was going to try to make those work. Chickened out and ordered the combo direct from Mustang for $470 and $190...but at least I KNOW I'm getting the right seats.

I just don't have the $900 for the set!!!!! Looks real nice, but I'm going for the Vintage Wide Solo from Mustang for $250. The other $650 goes into the kitty for the AME 9 degree 41mm Wideglide front end!!!
