I can tell you the bike is going to sit low with that stuff on there...the forks are shorter and the wheels are a git bit smaller as well. If you plan on taking the entire triple clamps then I *think* everything will just bolt on. You might have to get cute with some wiring for the guages though.

The rear wheel is tough. The Buells run a 180 out back. If you use this wheel and tire, you'll need to switch to chain drive for clearance. The swingarm will take a 180. However, your fender will not, but depending on your shock it may not be an issue if the tire won't be going that far up into the fender. But I would look into getting a custom seat pan/rear fender like a flat track bike to be safe.

XB triple clamps wont work, look for some X1 triple clamps for Xb forks. Xb T-clamps use sealed bearings in the head stock. X1 will use the same timkins on the t-clamps as the sportsters. They will just bolt right up. the forks are the same diameter, so no problem there. This set up will be very much lower that the XL stock. forks are 8cm shorter and the wheel about 4-5 divided by half is appoximately 10cm lower. just my guess. The rear wheel axle on an Xb is so much bigger that an Xl. that would take some modifications to work too.

just thought. the XB lightning/firebolt forks are much too short, but Ulysess forks are much longer with heavier springs and about the right size. and would be much better. wheel still smaller though. i looked in to this earlier to do to a sportster, but just bought a XB buell in the end.

Dave, the XB triple clamps will work, you just must use either a Tuber steering stem, or preferrably a XL steering stem.

I did it here.....
