I have been a die hard Harley Rider since the Evos came out. You at that moment in time, had caught up to the Japanese... Prior to that I had owned 30 Ricers. I have been around Motorcycles since the age of 3, riding with my Dad or my Uncle on the back of a Harley or an Indian.
I currently own a 2005 XL-883 that I thought I had customized to my liking. This is the 5th Harley that I have owned. Well to keep me and others buying your products willingly you need to once again make a huge leap forward, this time it's gonna take more than updating your existing bikes. It's going to take totally new thinking. It's going to take more than matching color side covers.
Last week I was out looking for Goggles when I ran across just what I had been looking for, a restoration project. Guess what, it's not a Harley. It's a 94Yamaha V-Max. A new version of which costs just over $10,000 dollars, about the same as a 1200 Sportster. It comes standard with 143 Horsepower.
Even my 94 (which is Bone Stock) starts up and runs without fiddling with the "Enrichener" for 10 minutes. There are no Carb Farts and no noises from :censor normally coming from the engine and tranny. I used to be Hard Core and didn't mind the little annoyances. Now, I am old and it really irritates me to have to do mod after mod to make a Harley run the way it should from the factory. Especially when I can buy a bike from the country you taught to build motorcycles and have it run perfect. Without mod 1. Not to mention having enough Raw power to warp the eye balls during acceleration, right out of the box.
I own Harley Stock too, well, you know good and well what that's been about since 2000. Make me proud again to own American. Revamp, Revise, Rethink (Whatever it takes) and get back in the fast lane,,,,,,,,,,,Please.

PS: I'm waiting to catch one of those $30,000 + Screaming Eagle V-Rods at a light with my restoration project.. It'll literally kill me if they can't keep up...:frownthre I sincerely hope they "Smoke Me". That would make me feel a little better..........We'll see.
